BANKER (Sporting Kansas City vs. FC Dallas)
It might not be a fun play, but I think there is a ton of value in the Banker this week. We are going to try to keep the parlay train going as well.
Sporting KC’s season is a dumpster fire already as they sit third from the bottom in the Western Conference with the second worst goal differential. They host a playoff bound hopeful FC Dallas side that still has a Jekyll and Hyde situation in regards to home and away form.
Sporting KC is 26th in the league in big chances created and are only averaging 3.3 shots on target a game. Their offense is terrible and their defense is not helping the situation as they are giving up 1.6 goals a game.
FC Dallas is one of the best home sides in the league, but they are very bland on the road and have been for a long time. They have three road games this season that have seen a combined one goal. Their defense has held up on their travels, however, and that is one reason why I am banking on both teams to score (BTTS) “No” at a nice value.
Kansas City is only hitting BTTS 25% of the time at home so far this season while FC Dallas has not had BTTS hit in any of their three road matches. Looking at KC’s inept offense with Dallas’ road form and this is just great spot.
We are going back to a tried and true team total (TT) for the parlay this week in NYCFC TT o1.5. Their offense is simply clicking right now and they get another extremely leaky defense in the San Jose Earthquake. NYC is also at home in Yankee Stadium where road teams just struggle, in general, as it is the narrowest field in the MLS.
Nashville SC has finished its arduous eight game road trip in record setting fashion to start the season and they are set to open their home stadium this weekend. Teams, historically, have performed when they are playing in a stadium opener, but Nashville doesn’t have an easy opponent. They are hosting the Philadelphia Union who, analytically, are one of the best defenses in the league. They are weaker away from home, so while I am not completely sold that Nashville win this one, I do believe they are going to ride that home crowd to a result. I am making their double chance (Nashville win or draw) the second leg of my parlay.
