NBA Betting Picks for 3/9/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

After last night, we are 2-0 on the week for Bankers, and 6-1 on Bankers over the last 7 games. Let’s finish the season strong with another winning Banker and 2 team parlay.

Dallas Mavericks vs. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have won two in a row. The Knicks overcame a 20-point lead by the Sacramento Kings and ended up winning by 16, 131-115. But let’s be honest guys, that’s the Kings. They will face a much stiffer test tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, a team that actually cares and competes on the defensive end.

The Mavericks have won 5 games in a row and they are coming off a 111-103 win over the Utah Jazz. Luka Doncic had 35 points and 16 rebounds in the win. The Mavericks have committed to playing a strong brand of defensive basketball and the results are evident. Dallas has won 11 of its last 13. The win over the Jazz means they are only .5 games behind the Jazz in the standings. They will be looking to pile up victories as the season continues in order to overtake the Jazz and grab home-court advantage if the teams meet in the playoffs, which is quite likely.

The Knicks defeated the Mavericks 108-85 in New York in January. I believe it’ll be a completely different scene tonight as the tired Knicks head to Dallas. Going against the Kings got their confidence up, but this is a whole different level of basketball. The Mavericks are committed on the defensive end. I expect them to outscore and outwork a tired Knicks team. The Mavericks have been playing well, and I expect to be betting them often as this regular season ends. Tonight’s Banker is the Dallas Mavericks – 7.5.

2-Team Parlay

Boston Celtics vs. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets suffered a high-paced loss against the Brooklyn Nets last night 132-121. This was a tough matchup for Charlotte. Tonight they face a tougher team, but they’re getting many more points in NBA odds than they did last night. The loss dropped Charlotte one place behind the Nets and they’ll be eager to get back on the winning track tonight.

The Celtics’ most recent game is a win over the Nets where they won 126-120 in Brooklyn. The Celtics are the hottest team in the East right now and are 8-2 in the last 10. Jaylen Brown did suffer an ankle injury last week. Brown will be in the lineup, even though he is not 100%. This will mean more usage and opportunity for Boston team leader, Jayson Tatum.

I think the 7 points of NBA odds are too much here for the Hornets team that has been playing well. Even though Charlotte lost to Brooklyn, the Nets are a team with whom the Hornets match up poorly. I think they match up better with the Celtics, as they can use Kelly Oubre and Miles Bridges on Jayson Tatum. Having two different wings to defend Tatum will be helpful to the Hornets tonight. The Hornets have the second-highest scoring offense in the league and this will be a shootout. The Hornets will keep it close and cover the NBA odds. The first half of the 2 team parlay is the Charlotte Hornets +7.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The Atlanta Hawks lost on Monday night to the Detroit Pistons 113-110. The loss dropped Atlanta to 31-33 on the year. They are 5-5 in their last 10. The Hawks had high expectations to start the year but were definitely struggling under the weight of those expectations. After failing to beat the lowly Detroit Pistons, they face a much tougher task in Milwaukee tonight.

The Milwaukee Bucks are coming off a 142-115 shellacking of the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma City last night. Now they travel home to take on the team that they faced in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. Milwaukee easily dispatched the Hawks in that playoff series and I expect the same thing tonight.

Due to the blowout, Milwaukee starters did not have to play a lot of minutes in the win. No starter besides Jordan Nwora played more than 30 minutes. So while the Bucks did play last night, they will be more rested than the schedule would suggest.

The Bucks are coming together as a team right now and I’m excited to be able to back them again. Giannis is playing MVP level basketball. Even though he is not currently likely to win the award, a strong argument could be made that he deserves it. The second half of the 2 team parlay is the Milwaukee Bucks -5.5.

Parlay: Charlotte Hornets +7/Milwaukee Bucks -5.5
