We cashed our Banker yesterday making us 5-1 in our last 6 Bankers. Let’s keep the winning ways going with more NBA picks tonight. We have a six-game slate from which to choose. After looking it over and running the numbers, here are the winning Banker and the 2 team parlay.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Both the Pelicans and the Grizzlies have lost their most recent games. The Grizzlies were up by 10 at the half but fell 123-112 to the Houston Rockets. The Grizzlies have been playing so well, at some point, there had to be a letdown. It finally happened against Houston. The loss snapped the Grizzlies back into reality like a cold splash of water to the face. Although the loss was discouraging for Grizzlies fans, it offers us an excellent opportunity to back a team playing arguably the best basketball in the NBA over the last month. Tonight the Grizzlies should be focused, even with the lead. The nonchalant attitude in the second half against Houston will definitely be fresh on the Grizzlies’ minds.
The New Orleans Pelicans are also coming off a loss in which they blew a double-digit lead. The Pelicans were up by 11 points with only three minutes left in the game. Yet the Denver Nuggets came back to give the Pelicans a 138-130 loss on Sunday night. The loss was the first for the Pelicans since the All-Star break. During the four-game post All-Star break winning streak, the Pelicans had won by an average of 26.8 points per game.
This is a great opportunity to grab the Memphis Grizzlies coming off a loss. Although the Pelicans have been playing better, I don’t think they are at the level of the Memphis Grizzlies just yet. With Memphis at home after a loss, I think we will see a fully focused effort, even if Memphis has a strong lead. I expect the Grizzlies to bounce back and cover the NBA odds. Tonight’s Banker is the Memphis Grizzlies -5.5.
2 Team Parlay
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Once again I’m going back to the Thunder. It is always tough going against the Milwaukee Bucks, who are on a four-game winning streak. The Bucks are averaging 125 points per game during the win streak. The Bucks and the Thunder have played once this season, in November, in Milwaukee. The Bucks won 96-89 in a low-scoring game.
The Thunder are shorthanded once again, but their team leader is playing amazing basketball. In the six games after the All-Star break, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 33 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds per game. Alexander is getting better almost every night. Although the Thunder still have a long way to go to build their roster, they have a foundational piece in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
I like the Thunder to cover the high NBA odds of 14.5 points. The Thunder have the second-best ATS record this season. The reason is because of games and point spreads similar to this one. The Milwaukee Bucks can cruise to an easy victory, yet the Thunder can still cover this enormous amount of NBA odds. The first half of our 2 team parlay is the Oklahoma City Thunder +14.5.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Charlotte Hornets
Yes, Brooklyn is playing absolutely terribly right now. Brooklyn has lost their last four games and six of their last seven games. They have yet to win a game in the two games since Kevin Durant has come back. However, Brooklyn has an excellent opportunity tonight against a Charlotte Hornets team that they match up very well against. The Charlotte Hornets do not play very good defense and do not have the size to hurt Brooklyn on the boards as other teams do. In a perimeter-based game, this is where Brooklyn excels. So while the Hornets have won 2 in a row and the Nets have lost 4 straight, I believe both of these teams’ fortunes change tonight. Brooklyn will use this excellent style match-up to get itself back in the groove. The second half of our 2 team parlay is the Brooklyn Nets -2.
