NBA Betting Picks for 3/1/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

The NBA has a shorter six games slate tonight but that doesn’t mean that we can’t find the winners. After looking at tonight’s games, I have found the winning Banker and 2 team parlay.

Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Lakers

Unless you are a Lakers fan, the drama surrounding the Lakers this year has been quite entertaining. After LeBron was talking down to the fans in a tweet and telling us to “keep that same energy”, the squad that LeBron heralded has fallen flat on its face. Many of the criticisms levied on the Lakers team have come to pass. The team is too old, not athletic enough, too many offense-only players, and Russell Westbrook and LeBron James are not a good fit. Yet because they are the Lakers and LeBron James is the greatest player of his generation, we are still getting some pretty nice NBA odds tonight.

This Lakers team seemed to be discombobulated and were yelling at each other and their own fans in a 30-point loss to the Pelicans on Sunday night. They now face a Dallas team that Mavericks coach Jason Kidd has playing excellent basketball. Dallas has won 7 of their last 10 games and has been playing great defense. The Dallas Mavericks will definitely be eager to make their mark on national TV against the league’s glamour franchise.

There’s not much to this handicap but the Lakers are just a pure fade as of right now. Yes of course, with LeBron, they can surprise and beat us on some nights, but as of right now I see no reason to stop betting against them. The Lakers went all-in but in this case, they busted out. Today’s Banker is the Dallas Mavericks -4.

2 Team Parlay

Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA as of late. That’s why it was such a surprise when they lost to the Indiana Pacers by 21 points on Sunday. Even with the loss, the Celtics have won 8 of their last 10. They have raised their point differential to +5.3. The Celtics starting lineup now has the highest net rating of any starting lineup and the NBA.

The Atlanta Hawks turned things around in their last game, a 27-point win over the Toronto Raptors. Trae Young had 41 points in the win. The win was emblematic of how the Hawks want to play basketball: simply outscore their opponents.

Even though the Celtics have been playing well, I like the way the Hawks rebounded in their most recent game. I believe the Hawks will be looking to gain some momentum as they have had a disappointing season so far. This game will be close. The 5.5 points of NBA odds are too much. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Atlanta Hawks +5.5.

Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Golden State Warriors are coming off a disappointing loss against the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors were ahead by 21 points in the third quarter but they ended up losing by six points to the Dallas Mavericks. This loss should have the Warriors focused tonight for the full 48 minutes.

I do like the Minnesota Timberwolves’ potential but they still do have problems executing, as shown in their 31 point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. They did rebound to beat Cleveland last night, but Cleveland is missing all of their guards. They will not be so fortunate against the Warriors tonight, who have excellent guard play.

I like the Warriors to bounce back after the devastating loss to the Mavericks. They will definitely be focused. We will not see them lose their drive and get complacent as they did against Dallas. The loss against Dallas means bad news for the Timberwolves tonight. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Golden State Warriors ML.
