We are almost to the All-Star Break. But we still have three more days to find winning Bankers and parlays. Let’s go!
Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers
The Boston Celtics have won eight games in a row. Their most recent win was a 10-point victory over Atlanta Hawks, in which Jayson Tatum scored 38 points and had 10 rebounds. After early-season struggles, the Celtics have rebounded to become a dark-horse contender in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics got a nice boost from the addition of Derrick White from the Spurs. Derrick White makes the Celtics backcourt defense one of the best in the league. The combination of White and Marcus Smart will be formidable for any opposing offense to contend with.
The Philadelphia 76ers made the blockbuster trade of the deadline yet the new addition James Harden will not be available to suit up until after the All-Star break. This makes the team run once again through Joel Embiid. Embiid had a 40-point triple-double in a 10-point win over the Cavaliers on Saturday night. Embiid is playing like an MVP, and they will need him to be at that level once again if they are going to get the victory tonight.
I like the Celtics to continue their win streak here tonight. The 76ers lost depth by sending out Seth Curry and Andre Drummond. I expect the Celtics to be able to take advantage of this team in transition and continue their red-hot win streak. Today’s Banker is the Boston Celtics -2.5.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Atlanta Hawks
Cleveland Cavaliers have been playing excellent basketball, going 13-4 in their last 17 games. However, they will be looking for atonement after a 10-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in their last outing. Tonight, they face an Atlanta Hawks team who is one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA. The Hawks made the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but now they are on the precipice of failing to make the playoffs this year. The Hawks are currently dealing with injuries to Bogdan Bogdanovic and John Collins, but with this team’s depth, there’s no excuse for how far this team has fallen. The Hawks need to get back on track, and quickly, or the season will end in disappointment.
I like the Cavaliers to get it done here today. With their size and the way that the Cavaliers are playing, they should beat the struggling Atlanta Hawks team. The Hawks entered the season overconfident and have been smacked down by the reality of the harsh NBA season. Maybe the Hawks will regroup after the All-Star break, but right now I think the Cavaliers will continue their great momentum. The first half of the 2-team parlay is the Cleveland Cavaliers -1.5.
Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic has absolutely exploded since the trade of Kristaps Porzingis. Doncic dropped 51 points and then 45 points in two games over the Clippers in which the Mavericks split the wins. Now the Mavericks face a tougher task than playing the Clippers at home. Tonight, they travel to Miami to take on one of the best home court teams in the NBA. Miami is 19-6 at home at FTX Arena this season. Miami is first in the Eastern Conference with a record of 37-20. Miami has one of the best defenses in the league. Jimmy Butler will draw the assignment on Luka Doncic, and I expect him to do quite well. With Butler being able to slow down Luka, this Mavericks often should come to a screeching halt. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Miami Heat -3.5.
