NBA Betting Picks for 2/14/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

The NFL season has ended, and all eyes turn to the NBA. For those diving in fresh, don’t worry, I’ve been handicapping every game since the first day of the season. I’m here to help you out as you make the transition. So, with no further ado, here is today’s winning Banker and 2 Team Parlay.

San Antonio Spurs vs Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have won four games in a row. DeMar DeRozan has been excellent as of late scoring 30 points in his last six games. The Spurs are playing well too, however. They have won two games in a row. They also have beaten the Bulls in their only matchup this season. That game was in San Antonio. The Spurs won that contest 124-114.

DeMar DeRozan has led the way for the Bulls and Dejounte Murray has led the way for the San Antonio Spurs. Murray has scored 30 points and dished out at least 10 assists in his last two games. He becomes the second Spurs player to ever achieve that feat, joining Tony Parker.

The Chicago Bulls have a lot to prove. The Bulls were one of the best teams in the East but after the trade deadline, the other top teams in the East have improved while the Bulls were forced to stand pat. The Bulls need to make sure to win in order to prevent falling back even more in the standings. What once seemed to be a promising season could be derailed by the constantly improving nature of the teams in the East.

I like the Spurs to cover the NBA odds here. They are playing exceptional basketball right now and then have a lot to prove on their own. San Antonio Spurs team leader Dejounte Murray is a first-time All-Star and will be eager to show everyone why he was selected. The Bulls have the better offense, but the Spurs have the better defense. This should lead to a very close game. Today’s Banker is the San Antonio Spurs +5.

2-Team Parlay

Houston Rockets vs Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have overcome Rudy Gobert’s absence to win their last five games in a row. Their most recent win was a 114-99 victory over the Orlando Magic where they barely covered the NBA odds. The Jazz have been rejuvenated by the return of Donovan Mitchell, who’s averaging 25.4 points per game. The Jazz have created a more offensive focus with Gobert out. They are third in the league in points scored at 113.6.

Houston Rockets are on a tough streak losing their last 4 in a row. Their most recent game was a 19-point loss to the Raptors on Thursday. Not all is lost however in Houston. Kevin Porter Jr. scored 30 points against the Rockets and has been playing better each game. The Rockets decline probably has to do with the loss of veteran leader Eric Gordon. Gordon has missed the last three games with a foot injury.

The teams are 1-1 against each other this season. Utah won the first game in Houston 122-91. The Rockets won the second game 116–111. Now they face off again tonight with the Jazz heavily favored by NBA odds.

Although favorites have been doing so well lately, I believe that provides us with an advantage. The numbers are skewed towards the favorites with the books being hammered last week. We will take advantage of these inflated numbers and grab the 14.5 points of NBA odds with the Houston Rockets. Both teams have great offenses and I believe Houston can keep it close with their ability to create in the halfcourt. The first half of our 2 team parlay is the Houston Rockets +14.5.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Portland Trail Blazers have won two games in a row. Their most recent win was a 112-103 win in New York over the next on Saturday. The new-look Blazers have traded a lot of pieces and turned the team over to Afernee Simons. Simons’ development has helped make the Blazers’ decision to trade longtime Blazer CJ McCollum a lot easier.

Milwaukee was absolutely smashing teams before they lost to the Suns 131-107 on Thursday night. The Milwaukee Bucks will definitely be looking to get right against the Portland team that is struggling to make the play-in game in the Western Conference. The Bucks look like one of the best teams in the league when they have Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo all in the lineup, which will be the case tonight.

Regardless, I still believe this is too many points of NBA odds here. Once again, we are getting the overreaction from the books getting absolutely crushed by favorites last week. I’ll take the Portland Trail Blazers and their two-game winning streaks with the 15.5 points tonight. The second half of the 2-team parlay is the Portland Trail Blazers +15.5.

Parlay: Houston Rockets +14.5/Portland Trail Blazers +15.5
