Today is the NBA trade deadline so it was a challenge trying to come up with plays. With so many pieces in and out of the lineup, it was tough to navigate the moving parts. Yet I was able to do it and come up with the winning Banker and 2 Team Parlay.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Detroit Pistons
I’ll admit, this game feels like a gamble within a gamble. Cade Cunningham is a game-time decision. Still, with Jerami Grant back in the lineup for the Detroit Pistons (assuming he doesn’t get traded between now and 3 p.m.) the Pistons do have the offense to keep up with Memphis. This will be a tough task going against the team with the third-best record in the NBA. The Grizzlies are 38-18. Still, we are getting an immense amount of points of NBA odds at home here taking the Pistons in Detroit, a place where the Pistons have played much better.
Jerami Grant has to be a little surprised at the lack of interest around him surrounding the trade deadline and he should be inspired to put up a nice performance to show teams what he’s been missing out on. Memphis just needs the win they don’t need to completely obliterate this team. Detroit has done well at home and the home crowd should give them the boost to keep this close. If Cunningham plays, this is a bonus and then I like this bet even more. Today’s Banker is the Detroit Pistons +12.5.
Brooklyn Nets vs Washington Wizards
The Brooklyn Nets have been in a free-fall as of late, losing their nine last games. Tonight they will be missing James Harden again who is rumored to be moved today at the trade deadline. Since the game is in Washington, Kyrie Irving can play. Will that be enough though against a Wizards team that is starting to come together? No one on the Wizards has the star power of Brooklyn, but the rest of the roster is much more complete than the Nets patchwork roster they were forced to form having three max contracts on their salary cap.
The Wizards have a little bit more of a team definition due to the injury to Bradley Beal. There was definite friction between Spencer Dinwiddie and Bradley Beal, but now Dinwiddie can run the offense on its own. This is a great opportunity for Dinwiddie to show what he can do. He will probably not be in the backcourt with Beal next season, so this is essentially a dress rehearsal or an audition for other teams to try and pick him up at the end of the season. Kyle Kuzma has been playing well for the Wizards as well, and they have a much more complete roster. I expect the Wizards to extend the Nets losing streak tonight. The first half of the two-team parlay is Washington Wizards -3.
Phoenix Suns vs Milwaukee Bucks
In a rematch of last year’s NBA finals in Milwaukee Bucks are traveling to Phoenix to take on the Suns. Both teams are playing absolutely great basketball right now. The Bucks are coming off a huge win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The win over the Lakers seemed to demoralize the Lakers. The Bucks have a chance to do another big statement game here tonight. The Bucks have won four in a row and eight of their last 10 games. It should be a very close game so I’m going to take the points in NBA odds with the underdog here. It is never to be having a Bucks ticket in your pocket the way they’ve been playing lately. The second half of the 2-team parlay is the Milwaukee Bucks +3.5.
