A new week begins in the NBA. Favorites went an astounding 14-0 ATS over the weekend. Will this trend continue on Monday night? Let’s dive into a five-game slate which gives us more opportunities to find winning a Banker and 2-team parlay.
Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The Golden State Warriors are one of the hottest teams in the NBA, coming in having won eight games in a row. The return of Klay Thompson has helped the team on the floor and in spirit. Thompson gives the team its “Splash Brothers” swagger back. Even without Draymond Green, the Warriors have been winning.
The Thunder recently had a three-game win streak snapped in Sacramento. The Thunder are dealing with injuries right now to Shai Gilgeous Alexander and Jeremiah Robinson Earl. Lu Dort will also miss time, which is tough because Dort is the Thunder’s best defender. Still, the Thunder are the second-best team in the league ATS at 32-18. This is because they are constantly getting double digits of NBA odds, which is the case tonight.
While I do expect the Warriors to get the win, I also expect the Thunder to keep this game close. The Thunder surprisingly have a top-10 defense; they just don’t have the offense to go with it. The Thunder are a young team that is still developing. The Warriors can afford to take it easy tonight and still get the win. Tonight’s Banker is the Oklahoma City Thunder +12.5.
Washington Wizards vs Miami Heat.
The Washington Wizards are definitely going through a slump. The Wizards have lost their last five home games. Tonight, they face a tough task trying to get back on track against an excellent Miami Heat team. The Heat have been buoyed by the return of a team leader Kyle Lowry. The Wizards are struggling without their leading scorer Bradley Beal, but they’re going to need to have other players step up before they fall too far out of contention. Kyle Kuzma had done an excellent job of that as of late but fell short against Phoenix. Kuzma is second in the team in scoring and is the top rebounder on the team.
Miami is in the midst of a six-game road trip, and they are 2-2 so far. Miami has been boosted by the return of Kyle Lowry but of course, they are led by Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler not only provides excellent shot-making and defense, but he’s also the heart and soul of the team. When Butler’s on the floor, we can always expect Miami to provide excellent effort.
The Wizards will need excellent effort to compete with the Heat tonight, but with their backs against the wall, I expect we will get that. The Washington Wizards definitely need this win and hopefully can take advantage of a road-weary Miami Heat team. Although it’s tough to take the Wizards on the money line, I do believe they will keep it close to cover the NBA odds. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Washington Wizards +6.
New York Knicks vs Utah Jazz
The Knicks are coming off a disappointing overtime loss against the Los Angeles Lakers in which they blew a 21-point lead. This ruined a career-high night for RJ Barrett who scored 36 points. Julius Randle also scored 32 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Yet the Knicks will not be able to score as easily tonight going against the great defense of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz will be returning their defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert to the lineup tonight. Gobert fixes so many of the Jazz deficiencies on the defensive end. Gobert’s strong rim protection makes all his teammates look better defensively. With Gobert back in the lineup, I expect the Jazz to get back into their winning ways and great record ATS. I believe the Knicks will be tired out in the midst of this road trip and coming off of a long grueling game. The second half of our 2-team parlay is the Utah Jazz -7.5.
