NBA Betting Picks for 2/4/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

Friday night is packed with action in the NBA. I’ve gone over the NBA odds to find the best wagers to place. Let’s cap off this winning week with another Banker and 2 Team Parlay.

Atlanta Hawks vs Toronto Raptors

The Atlanta Hawks are coming off a big win on Thursday night against the best team in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns. The Hawks got the 124-115 victory even as underdogs by NBA odds. Trae Young scored 43 points in the victory. Atlanta’s win ended the Phoenix winning streak at 11 games. The Hawks have now won 8 of their last 9 games. The only loss in that stretch is to the Toronto Raptors, but Trae Young missed the game.

The Raptors are coming off an overtime victory against the Chicago Bulls. The Raptors scored the final five points for a 127-120 victory in Toronto. Toronto once again used their length and athleticism to shut down the high-powered Chicago Bulls offense. As the season has progressed, Toronto has gotten better and better.

The Raptors are in great condition. I thought that when they are coming off a triple-overtime win they might be tired in Atlanta. But they showed no signs of fatigue and looked strong throughout the game to get that win. This team just keeps on plugging away, despite the situation. Even with no fans in the stands, they’ve continued to protect their home court. As the season progresses, the Toronto Raptors are a team that nobody is going to want to face in the first round of the playoffs.

I like the Toronto Raptors to get it done at home here against Atlanta. Although both teams are coming off big wins, it feels like a bigger letdown spot for the Hawks. Plus, the Hawks had to travel to Toronto tonight, while the Raptors do get to stay at home. The line is short for the NBA odds, so it is essentially a “just pick the winner” game. Today’s Banker is the Toronto Raptors -1.5.

Banker: Toronto Raptors -1.5 at -110 (1.91) at BetUS

2-Team Parlay

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are coming off of a 113-107 loss in Boston on Wednesday night. They lost in spite of 38 points from LaMelo Ball, which was a career-high for the second-year player. Tonight, they host the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers played excellent basketball during January, going 11-4. Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, they have lost two of the last three games, including a 115-104 loss to the Rockets in Houston. So, Cleveland will definitely be eager to get back on track.

Cleveland has definitely suffered from the loss of Darius Garland. Garland is an excellent young point guard who sets up the offense for the Cavaliers especially in the half-court. Garland will miss tonight’s game in Charlotte. Garland being out is why we are getting such generous NBA odds. For a team that plays as well as the Cleveland Cavaliers, I was quite surprised to see them getting +4.5. Yes, the Hornets are good, but the Cleveland Cavaliers match up with the Hornets very well. The first half of the 2-team parlay is the Cleveland Cavaliers +4.5.

Brooklyn Nets vs Utah Jazz

The Brooklyn Nets are mired in a bad losing streak. The low point definitely came on Wednesday night when they lost to the Sacramento Kings. James Harden only had four points in the loss. Now they look to get back on track against a Utah team that has just broken its own losing streak with a win over the Denver Nuggets. Utah will return Donovan Mitchell to the lineup tonight, but they are still missing defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert

I like the Nets to at least cover the NBA odds tonight. I believe they will keep this game close. They’ve been hearing a lot about themselves during this losing streak, and they should be eager to turn things around. The second half of our 2-team parlay is the Brooklyn Nets +5.5.

Parlay: Cleveland Cavaliers +4.5/Brooklyn Nets + 5.5 at +265 (3.65)
