There are six games on the NBA card tonight, which is more than usual for a Thursday. What a pleasant surprise. We will take advantage of the extra games to find the winning Banker and 2- team parlay.
Chicago Bulls vs Toronto Raptors
The Chicago Bulls were slumping when Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso left the lineup. They’ve been playing much better as of late, winning four of their last five. However, three of those four wins were against low-quality teams, as well as a win over the Raptors. The Bulls beat the Raptors in Chicago 111–105 on January 26th. The Raptors’ Gary Trent will try to break a record held by the Bulls DeMar DeRozan, formerly of the Raptors. Trent will be going for his sixth straight game with more than 30 points.
The Bulls are in an interesting position without their best defenders. At first, it was a problem for them, but they have quickly adjusted. Point guard Ayo Dosunmu has become a key piece for the Bulls and helped them mitigate the loss of Lonzo Ball. The Bulls have been playing very good basketball after their initial slump due to the injuries.
The Raptors are currently eighth in the East. They have also won four of their last five games. The Raptors’ quickness and length on the perimeter make them much better defensively than the current iteration of the Bulls. I believe this will be a great chance for Toronto to get back after taking the loss in Chicago. Today’s Banker is the Toronto Raptors -2.5.
Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs
The Miami Heat are hoping to return Kyle Lowry to the lineup after he’s missed significant time with personal issues. That will be a big boost to the team, especially on the defensive end. The Spurs are committing to a rebuild and they have been giving the young players plenty of playing time. You can see the young players developing, but it is not yet translating into wins. However, the development of Dejounte Murray has to be exciting for the Spurs fans. Now they have a building block with which to move forward.
I like the Heat here to get it done. Now that they’re pretty close to full strength, they have been playing better. The Heat are a serious contender to win the East. I believe this will show tonight against a Spurs team that plays well, yet sometimes struggles to execute down the stretch due to the youth and inexperience. The Heat have more talent and they have more experience in execution in crunch time. The first half of the 2-team parlay is the Miami Heat -2.5.
Phoenix Suns vs Atlanta Hawks
Phoenix has the best record in the league and the best road record at 19-4. The Suns have just been a juggernaut of late. They are definitely playing the best basketball in the NBA right now. The Hawks have been playing better but this Phoenix team is a different animal. As good as the Hawks are playing, I think they will struggle to keep up with the Phoenix Suns team that is just currently a steamroller, especially on the road.
Phoenix is 15-8 against the spread on the road, the second-best in the NBA. They have a point differential of +7.4 on the road. They usually beat the spread on the road by an average of +4.3. I expect them to get it done tonight. The second half of the 2-team parlay is the Phoenix Suns -5.5.
