NBA Betting Picks for 2/2/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

We have nine games in the NBA tonight. There is plenty of action for us to find winning NBA picks. I’ve narrowed it down and found the best ones for the winning Banker and 2-team parlay.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks

Looking at their 15-34 record you can safely say the Oklahoma City Thunder are a bad basketball team. But what they are not is a soft basketball team. They play hard every night, and they don’t often get blown out. This is demonstrated by their 30-17 record ATS. Why is their record so good against the spread? They are constantly being undervalued and given double-digit points. This is the case again tonight and they’re catching 12 points against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Thunder sometimes have problems scoring. They are 30th in the league in points scored at 100.7. But they are 11th in the league in points against at 107.4. That’s because they play at a slow pace and play fairly good defense. Of course, the Thunder will be missing their star Shai Gilgeous Alexander. But this is a great opportunity for Josh Giddey to develop. The more time that Giddey has had, the more he has excelled. I believe that Giddey will be an excellent NBA player and this time without Alexander will be his time to show it.

The Dallas Mavericks are playing excellent basketball as of late. Their resurgence has been spurred by their renewed commitment to defense. They are third in the league in points against at 103.4. Still, they only have a point differential + 2.7 so far this season, which is notable when you’re asking me to lay 12 points with this team. Most likely Dallas will get the win but I don’t think they have any incentive to really pour on the score. They could be resting some of their starters in the fourth quarter while the Thunder will continue to play their best players for the sake of their development. Dallas probably gets the win, but the Thunder will get the cover. Today’s Banker is the Oklahoma City Thunder + 12

2-Team Parlay

Sacramento Kings vs Brooklyn Nets

Here is the matchup of two teams who desperately need a win. The Nets have lost five in a row the Kings have lost seven in a row. Last night the Nets lost to the Suns 121-111. The Kings are coming off a road trip in which they were embarrassed every night except for one. For the Kings this is the dreaded first game back from a road trip in which the fatigue still plays a factor. After hanging tough with Phoenix last night, I do believe the Nets will enjoy the downgrade in the level of competition.

The Kings’ defense is absolutely terrible this year, one of the worst in the league. The way to beat the Nets roster size. The Kings lack the size to punish the Nets down low. In the Battle of two teams that are guard-oriented, that Nets guards are much better than the Kings. The first half of our 2-team parlay is the Brooklyn Nets -4.

Charlotte Hornets vs Boston Celtics

The Celtics are playing much better but the NBA odds on this game are far too steep. The Charlotte Hornets have an excellent offense, and their offense is so good it can beat even the high-level defense that the Celtics play. Even though Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are playing better recently, I still like the Hornets to keep this game close within the NBA odds. I think that LaMelo Ball will show once again why he is one of the most exciting young talents in the league with a big performance tonight. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Charlotte Hornets +5.5
