NBA Betting Picks for 1/24/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for more winning NBA picks. Normally Mondays have a huge slate. Today we have only four games. But that won’t stop us from finding the winning Banker and 2-team parlay.

Indiana Pacers vs New Orleans Pelicans

The nightmare season for the Indiana Pacers continues as once again they have been struck by injuries. The injury report for the Pacers tonight is a long list. Malcolm Brogdon is out until February. Caris LeVert is a game-time decision. TJ McConnell is out until March. Domantas Sabonis is out until later this week. Myles Turner is out until February. TJ Warren is out until February. Essentially the Pacers will be missing their expected starting lineup for the beginning of the year.

The New Orleans Pelicans have some injury concerns as well, but not as dramatic as the Pacers. Devonte Graham is a game-time decision and Brandon Ingram might play tonight but it is doubtful. That hasn’t stopped at the Pelicans from winning at home as of late. The Pelicans have won their last three home games and have been 7-2 in their last 9 at home. If Ingram is out, the team will be led on offense by Josh Hart and Jonas Valanciunas. With the Pacers missing their two starting big man, Valanciunas should be in line to have a big night.

Although this is the dreaded first game back from a road trip, I still like the Pelicans to get it done here. As tough as it is to bet on a lower-tier squad like the Pelicans, the Pacers are a pure fade right now. Until the Pacers figure something out, we will continue to bet against them, as the lineup they are trotting out is definitely one that of a lottery team. Tonight’s Banker is the New Orleans Pelicans -2.5.

2-Team Parlay

Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are coming off a win yesterday when they beat the Los Angeles Clippers at home. The Cavaliers are coming off a win on Saturday night in Cleveland. So, while the Cavaliers have been at home this weekend the Knicks had to hop on a jet after their game yesterday for Cleveland’s game tonight. So, fatigue will be another thing that the Knicks are facing tonight

But fatigue is not the crux of my handicap. I think the Cavaliers can beat the Knicks at their own game, and that is playing defense. The Knicks want to be a defensive stalwart, the Cavaliers actually are. The Cavaliers have an excellent way to frustrate Julius Randle with Evan Mobley and Jarett Allen. I believe the Cavaliers get it done even against the six points of NBA odds. The first half of the two-team parlay is Cleveland Cavaliers -6.

Utah Jazz vs Phoenix Suns

The Jazz are going through some injury issues as well right now with Rudy Gobert and Bojan Bogdanovic to be game-time decisions. Donovan Mitchell and Hassan Whiteside will be out. It is tough for me to handicap this game from the side perspective because I don’t have much information on how the Jazz perform without their main players. But I do believe this game will go under.

Phoenix has an excellent defense, and they have a slow pace of play. I believe once they get a lead, they will sit on it in a deliberate fashion. While the new NBA has plenty of run and gun, that will not be the case in this game tonight. The second half of my 2-team parlay and the Utah Jazz/Phoenix Suns under 221.5

Parlay: Cleveland Cavaliers -6/Utah Jazz/Phoenix Suns under 221.5 at +265 (3.65) at BetUS
