Friday night is packed with NBA action. Let’s finish the week strong. I have run the numbers, analyzed the matchups, and I’m ready to give the winning picks. Here is today’s winning Banker and NBA parlay.
Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies
If you’ve been reading this column, you know how I feel about streaks. You got to keep riding that streak while you can. If you are riding a streak, you can win multiple times. When fading a hot streak, you can only win once. Let’s keep riding the streak with the Memphis Grizzlies until the wheels fall off.
It was close until the end last night, but the Memphis Grizzlies got the win and cover against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ja Morant was his usual brilliant self. John Konchar sealed the victory with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Konchar also hit a key 3 pointer to seal the cover for the Grizzlies. This is what happens when you’re riding a hot streak. Even role players who don’t have high expectations chip in with career nights.
The Grizzlies are looking to me to be a true contender to win the Western Conference, but the general public has yet to recognize this. I still believe they are currently undervalued, but this probably will not last for long. Let’s take advantage of it for right now while we still can. Today’s Banker is the Memphis Grizzlies – 3.
Houston Rockets vs Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings ruined one of our picks the other night by upsetting the Los Angeles Lakers. As a Kings fan, I was happy to see the evil empire lose, but of course, disappointed to lose a wager. However, as with most young unsuccessful teams, the Kings do not handle success well. So I’ll be going back to the well and fading this team.
“But Spread,” you might say, “the Rockets are absolutely terrible”. Yes, this is true. I can’t deny that. Yet the Rockets are playing much better with Eric Gordon in the lineup. His 31 points led the team to a victory over San Antonio on Wednesday night. However, the Rockets have plenty of scorers. They need Gordon on the floor for his veteran leadership and defense. With Gordon on the floor, my team ranking for the Rockets is much higher. I expect to see another solid effort from the Rockets tonight. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Houston Rockets +5.5.
Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers
The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will engage in another chapter of their storied rivalry this evening. These games are always close, so I’m usually looking to take the points. Tonight will be no different, as I believe that Al Horford can do a good job of slowing down Embiid enough for his teammates to keep pace with the Sixers on the offensive end. The emergence of Robert Williams “The Timelord” gives the Celtics another athletic option to match up with the Sixers MVP.
The Celtics had a slow start to the season but are playing better as of late, winning three in a row. I think they finally turned a corner and are playing better as a team, and we should see their results improve going into the All-Star break. Let’s back a team that is finally living up to its potential. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Boston Celtics +4.
