NBA Betting Picks for 1/11/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

We cashed the banker yesterday, let’s continue the winning week. We are looking at a shorter NBA slate for a Tuesday night. Even though there are less options, that doesn’t mean we can’t find the winners. Let’s have a look at tonight’s Banker and winning 2-team parlay.

Phoenix Suns vs Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have taken advantage of a home stand, quietly winning 7 games in a row. The Raptors are underrated because they had struggled with injuries this season. Now back to full health, you see the team that Masai Ujiri has designed. The Raptors have a wealth of athletic forwards who can defend. This depth and strength on the wing make the Raptors a matchup nightmare for anyone.

The Phoenix Suns are a fantastic basketball team led by Chris Paul. Chris Paul’s veteran leadership took a talented roster and turned them into championship contenders. Paul directs the offense well and they are consistently getting good open shots. This is why they are second in the league at field goal percentage at 47.3%

The Suns are coming off a 123-100 loss at home to the Heat. Now they must travel across the continent to take on Toronto. Traveling to Canada is extra challenging right now with their strict Covid protocols. This is not a normal road trip and some of the Raptors opponents have definitely been thrown off by the extra travel time.

Still, we can’t discount the Phoenix Suns and their 30-9 record, including an impressive 13-4 road record. However, tonight I don’t think it’ll be enough against the Raptors team that is vastly underrated due to the amount of time that they spent not at full strength. The Raptors are getting 4 points at home. This means that the bookmakers’ models have the Suns 7 points better than the Raptors, while I only have them 3.75 points better. I can’t deny the numbers. Tonight’s Banker is the Toronto Raptors +4.

2-Team Parlay

Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors

The Warriors loss of Draymond Green makes this team not as good defensively. Against normal NBA teams, this wouldn’t be an issue, but against the red-hot Memphis Grizzlies they will definitely have problems. It’s no surprise the Grizzlies have won 9 straight. They have depth, and defend at an elite level. The Grizzlies “Grit and Grind” culture will be too much for the Warriors in the absence of their spiritual leader. I expect a big night for Ja Morant and for the Grizzlies to get things done at home. The first half of the 2-team parlay is the Memphis Grizzlies ML.

Denver Nuggets vs LA Clippers

The Denver Nuggets have returned some of their guards and are not as thin as they were over the past couple weeks. But, more importantly, they have MVP Nikola Jokic. Tonight, they meet the Clippers team that is still missing their best player, Paul George. The Clippers are scrappy and play hard, but they will not have the talent to keep up with Jokic tonight. Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris are fine role players, but it is tough to win with them as your best 2 scoring options. Denver has been playing better since getting their guards back. Even though this game is in LA, I believe that Denver gets the win. The second half of the 2-team parlay is the Denver Nuggets -2.

Parlay: Memphis Grizzlies ML/Denver Nuggets -2 at +265 (3.65) at BetUS
