NBA Betting Picks for 1/10/22 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

A new week means new chances to cash more winning NBA picks. The NBA action is heating up. The covid outbreaks among the teams are coming to an end. Many teams are back to full strength. I’m excited as the NBA goes forward because this means we can have more trust in our own generated lines. So, without further ado, here’s today’s Banker and 2 team parlay.

Indiana Pacers vs Boston Celtics

Oh man, I can’t believe I’m writing about this game. These are two teams that I’ve been fading often in my daily columns here at BetUS. Both teams are coming off of wins, however. Indiana recently beat the Utah Jazz 125–113. Boston is coming off a blowout 99-75 victory over the New York Knicks. It’s always tough when two teams I like to fade play each other, but in this case, I believe the line is incorrect.

The Indiana Pacers have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NBA this season. To be fair, the Pacers have been missing multiple players. They have had some of the worst injury luck so far. They hope to get some reinforcements tonight as Malcolm Brogdon, Torrey Craig, Isaiah Jackson, and Caris LeVert are all game-time decisions. If Brogdon and Levert can return, it would be huge for a Pacers team that has had trouble generating offense from the perimeter.

The Boston Celtics have had problems with consistency so far this season. They’re struggling to adapt to life under new coach Ime Udoka. The Celtics are missing former coach Brad Stevens’ excellent play design and ability to make in-game adjustments. Until they fully adapt to life under their new coach, they will be easy to continue to bet against, especially when they’re laying points. Today’s Banker is the Indiana Pacers +6.5.

2-Team Parlay

Milwaukee Bucks vs Charlotte Hornets

What a great bounce-back spot for the Bucks. The Bucks were in a prime let down spot in their loss to the Hornets on Saturday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 43 points and 12 rebounds, but that wasn’t enough. The rest of the team seemed exhausted after a thrilling victory in Brooklyn the night before. Now with two days off to rest and stew over the loss to Charlotte, I expect to see a better version of Milwaukee tonight.

The Hornets are a good basketball team, but in this game, we will see their problems versus the elite. The Bucks were able to punish the Hornets inside, they were just too tired to get the job done. Now, I think they should play to the level that we’ve been accustomed to from the defending NBA champions. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Milwaukee Bucks -1.5.

Utah Jazz vs Detroit Pistons

Man, it hurts to take a team as bad as the Pistons, but in this case we’re going to have to do it. The Jazz are at the end of a road trip and still missing team leader Rudy Gobert. While Donovan Mitchell is the key to the offense, Gobert is the key to the defense. With Gobert being out, the team has had to work extra hard during this road trip and the fatigue was evident in their loss to Indiana.

Detroit gets blown out often, but they play much better at home than on the road. They should be able to take advantage of the absence of Gobert. Detroit is led by the talented Cade Cunningham, and I expect he will have lots of room to work and will be able to take advantage of the lack of inside presence. I’m playing the Pistons fairly simple at this point. I fade them on the road, but I’m intrigued by grabbing points with them at home. This isn’t as much of a bet on the Pistons. It is a fatigue fade of the Jazz who have been exhausted without their defensive anchor. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Detroit Pistons +11.
