NBA Betting Picks for 12/29/21 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

We’ve hit our last two bankers and we’re going to head into the new year on a nice winning streak. We have an NBA slate tonight that appears chalk-heavy to me. Let’s dig into some of these matchups to find the best Banker and winning 2-team parlay.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics are coming off 2 disheartening losses. The Celtics fell to the Bucks on Christmas Day in front of a national audience. They fell apart after leading by 13 with 5 minutes ago. They then traveled to Minnesota to take on a Timberwolves team missing his three best players and once again blew a big lead. Tonight, is the night of the Boston Celtics get back on track.

The Los Angeles Clippers already had a tough road to travel when they lost Kawhi Leonard for the majority of the season. Paul George stepped in and proved why he is a top-10 player in the league, but now Paul George is out as well. This leaves the Clippers with a group of role players to take the floor until they get back to health. Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac, and Marcus Morris are all great players, but they’re not the type to lead their team to victory against a quality opponent, especially after traveling to the East Coast.

I like the Boston Celtics to get back on track here at home and cover the NBA odds. Boston is not as bad as their record and statistics suggest and I believe that they will use opportunities like these to show to everyone that they are in fact a good basketball team. If not, Boston could be active at the trade deadline and maybe blowing up this core. I think the Boston Celtics will be able to defeat the depleted Clippers team. Tonight’s Banker is the Boston Celtics – 5.5.

2-Team Parlay

Utah Jazz vs Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers were struggling to win games even at full strength. Now they must try to contend with the best team in the league with a depleted roster. Portland will be missing Robert Covington, CJ McCollum, Jusuf NUrkic, and Cody Zeller. Most importantly, Damian Lillard is playing through an injury and it’s not the same player that he was last season where he could lead a team to Victory through his sheer shooting brilliance.

The Utah Jazz are the NBA’s best road team in terms of Point differential at +15. The Jazz were traditionally considered to be a very strong team at home, but vulnerable on the road. As the Jazz try to make the next step toward being a true championship contender, being a great team on the road is a must. The Jazz have been taking that step by being a great road team and I’m expecting them to show this again tonight. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Utah Jazz – 6.5.

Atlanta Hawks vs Chicago Bulls

Usually, I like to play more underdogs than this when handicapping the NBA. But with multiple players missing games due to covid protocols, I have found it wisest to just attack the depleted teams. This is what we will do here once again the Atlanta Hawks are missing nine players out there normal 15-man roster and have been filling in these spots with G league players. They still have stars Trae young, Clint Capela, and Cam Reddish, but it’s not enough to keep pace with a Chicago Bulls team that has their sights set on winning the Eastern Conference. This is a very simple handicap. Until the Hawks get back to having an NBA-level roster, we will continue to fade them. The second half of our 2-team parlay is the Chicago Bulls -8.5

.Parlay: Utah Jazz -6.5/Chicago Bulls -8.5 at +265 (3.65)
