A new week means a new chance of cashing more Bankers and parlays. Looking at an exciting Monday night slate, which teams will be the winning NBA picks?
Sacramento Kings vs Toronto Raptors
The Sacramento Kings will try to get a win on a road trip that ends in Toronto. Toronto can be a very tough place to play. The Kings lost to Charlotte 124-123 on Friday night. They then lost on Saturday to the Cavaliers 117-103 in a game that was not nearly as close as the final score indicated. The Kings have no identity, and their team leader De’Aaron Fox appears to have given up because he gives absolutely no effort on the defensive end. Interim Head Coach Alvin Gentry is not holding them accountable. Fox’s lack of effort on defense is setting the tone and the rest of the team looks quite lazy defensively. The Kings have given up more than 70 points in their two games on this road trip.
The Toronto Raptors are trying to finish a home stand on a winning note. The Raptors are 3-3 on this run in Toronto and a win here would clinch a winning home stand. The Raptors most recent win was a 90-87 win over the New York Knicks on Friday. The Raptors are trying to reclaim one of the best home court advantages in the league, but this season they have been a disappointing 5-9 at home.
The Raptors match up very well with the Kings because they have the size and length to really trouble one of the smaller teams in the league. The Raptors are flush with long athletic wings while the Kings often run a three-point guard lineup. I expect the Raptors size and defensive ability to win the day here against a Sacramento Kings team that has no unity or cohesiveness as of right now. Until the Kings can get this figured out, fading them is going to continue to be profitable. Tonight’s Banker is the Toronto Raptors -4.5.
2 Team Parlay
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Miami Heat
The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the hottest teams in basketball. Cleveland has won their last three games, all by double digits. The Cavaliers are one of the biggest teams in the league and start three 7 Footers in Evan Mobley, Jared Allen, and Lauri Markkanen. This will pose a problem against a Miami Heat team that is missing their two best players, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler.
The Cavaliers have not been good since LeBron James left, and the markets have been slow to adjust to how good this current team really is. Even though they have a lot less experience in winning, the Cavaliers should roll against a depleted Heat team that is struggling, missing the heartbeat of the team. Without Butler and Adebayo, this Heat team plays very small, and this will play right into the Cavaliers hands. I expect the Cavaliers’ size to be too much for a depleted Miami team. The first half of the two-team parlay is the Cleveland Cavaliers – 4.
Houston Rockets vs Atlanta Hawks
The Rockets recently ended a seven-game winning streak, but the team is still playing well lately. The Rockets have a bunch of young players trying to make a name for themselves and the recent play of Eric Gordon has given them a veteran leader to help guide them to become a competitive basketball team. The Rockets are loaded with talent, but they have many players who are very inexperienced. They are an easy team to overlook, especially by a team like Atlanta. While Atlanta is excellent at home, it is tough to see them winning by double-digits against a talented offensive Rockets team that can score against even the best defenses. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Houston Rockets +11.
