We had a sweep on the three games late last night. Now we look to it Friday to end the week right. I’ve looked through the board to find the best plays. Let’s cash a Banker and a two-team parlay.
Milwaukee Bucks vs Houston Rockets
The Milwaukee Bucks had a nine-game winning streak that ended in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. After taking a seven-point lead into half, the Bucks got crushed in the second half and lost to their Eastern Conference rivals. The Bucks will be looking for revenge against a Rockets team that is hot as well.
The Rockets now how the longest win streak in the NBA at seven consecutive games after a 114-104 win against the Brooklyn Nets. The Rockets made 14 threes in the victory and were deadly from behind the arc. After a 1-16 start, the Rockets surprised everybody, including themselves, with this improved brand of basketball. The Rockets are doing a good job of getting multiple different teammates involved and they have had a different leading scorer on most nights of this win streak.
The Rockets will be facing a tough task against the defending Champions and the NBA odds reflect that. However, I believe that 8.5 points of NBA odds are too much. While the Rockets winning streak might end, I do believe that they will keep a close and battle Milwaukee down to the end. In the matchup of two streaking teams, I will take the points. Today’s Banker is the Houston Rockets + 8.5.
Brooklyn Nets vs Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have the depth but the Nets have the star power. If the Nets can keep this game close, they definitely have the better options to make quick shots when the game is on the line. Atlanta’s winning defense has been depleted by injuries to Bogdan Bogdanovic DeAndre Hunter and Cam Reddish. The Nets elite jump-shooting can nullify the rim protection of Clint Capela.
The Nets are coming off a loss where they rested Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge to get ready for this matchup specifically. I believe the Nets and their coach Steve Nash will be treating this game like a playoff game because it could have implications in home court seeding by the time the playoffs roll around. I expect a big game atmosphere and intensity here, and I believe the Nets will get it done. The first half of the two-team parlay of the Brooklyn Nets ML.
Dallas Mavericks vs Indiana Pacers
The Dallas Mavericks snapped their losing streak with a win over Memphis on Wednesday night. The Indiana Pacers have been hit hard by covid with Rick Carlisle and Justin holiday being placed in the protocols. The Pacers canceled practice yesterday due to an abundance of caution about a covid outbreak. The Pacers also have trade rumors swirling around them
Center Myles Turner has gone to the media and said that he would like to be traded as he does not feel appreciated in his current role.
There’s a lot of tension around the Pacers team and it’ll be interesting to see how they respond. I believe in the short-term that turmoil will be good at these players should be on edge and looking to make their mark. Long-term, I think this controversy will hurt the team, but I believe a short-term bump could be in play and Indiana will be the beneficiary here. In spite of all the negative energy surrounding the team, I believe they come together tonight and make a statement by beating a Dallas Mavericks team who I’m not high on. The second half of the two-team parlay is the Indiana Pacers – 2.Parlay: Brooklyn Nets ML/ Indiana Pacers -2 at +265 (3.65) at BetUS
