Banker: Houston Cougars vs. Cincinnati Bearcats
It has been a fun last few weeks for NCAAF betting and things have gotten crazy! Auburn all but had beaten #4 Alabama in last week’s Iron Bowl until the Crimson Tide forced overtime and found a way to miraculously complete the comeback, thus saving their season and College Football Playoff hopes. Ohio State, meanwhile, wasn’t so lucky.
Jim Harbaugh recorded his first ever win in dominant fashion over the Ohio State buckeyes 42-27 and earned their way into the Big 10 Championship game and more than likely eliminated the then #2 Buckeyes from playoff contention. All that excitement and more occurred last week, including Army’s dominant 31-16 win over Liberty last week, which cashed our third consecutive Banker of the week!
This week we’re going for four in a row, and I have just the team to help us accomplish that. I’m going to be taking Houston +10.5 as they’ll travel north to face Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference championship game. This will be a notable game for several reasons, the first being that if Cincinnati wins this game, they’ll more than likely become the first Group of five team in CFB Playoff history to make the 4-team playoff.
Secondly, this will be the last game Cincinnati will ever play as a group of five teams as they’ve already accepted an invitation to the Big 12 starting next season. Houston on the other hand has much to play for themselves, the Cougars come into this matchup 11-1 with their only loss coming the first game of the season against Texas Tech. This Houston team has grown immensely over the season and now boasts a top 10 defense in almost every category.
In fact, this will be the best defense Cincinnati will have faced this season. Cincinnati has run into offensive trouble this year when they haven’t been able to establish the run, thus leaving their offense in third and longs. This is what I anticipate happening often on Saturday. Houston also has a top 30 offense in most categories and has really found their groove this year under third year head coach Dana Holgerson (formally West Virginia HC). I think this game is fairly low scoring and comes down to the wire. Lock in the following and lets cash!
December College Football is upon us, hallelujah! Conference Championship week is here and I’m looking to cash a nice juicy parlay to start the month off in style! For the first leg I’m going to be targeting a Michigan first half team total over 13.5 (-120). Iowa’s defense is good, but I think the Michigan Wolverines will have too much confidence and swagger going into this one. Michigan knows if they win, they’re in to the CFB Playoff as the #2 seed at the least.
I think Michigan will pound the rock, put the ball in the air and make a statement from the first snap. Michigan just logged their most historic win in over a decade with last week’s dominant win over rival Ohio State, so I don’t see them letting this opportunity slip away. Lock in the Michigan first half team total of over 13.5 and sit back and enjoy!
Secondly, I’m taking the Georgia Bulldogs to continue their impressive season and win outright in the upcoming SEC title game versus conference foe Alabama. I’ve watched a lot of football and it’s clear that there is one team this season that is truly dominant and surprisingly enough it’s not Alabama. Nope, this season Georgia has been the most elite and impressive team and it hasn’t been close.
The spread on this game opened at -3.5 and has since been bet to -6.5 most likely due to Alabama’s close call in the Iron Bowl with Auburn. I’m happy to take Georgia on the spread but this is a parlay, so I’ll lay the juice with the -225 ML and let the power of the parlay boost our odds. Lock in the following and let’s cash a parlay!
