We had a great holiday weekend but now it’s time to get back to work. The NBA has a bunch of great games on tap this evening. Which team should we select in order to make a winning Banker and a winning 2-team parlay.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs Indiana Pacers
The Timberwolves had quite the outing on Saturday night as they had to go to double overtime to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 121-120. D’Angelo Russell had his best game of the season so far with 35 points and 8 assists. Two of those assists came in the final 31 seconds to help the Timberwolves ensure victory. Minnesota is coming together with the development of Anthony Edwards. Edwards had a quiet 19 points against Philadelphia but was able to make the block on the final shot to seal the win.
The Indiana Pacers are getting healthier and coming together as a team. Caris LeVert has finally returned to add scoring punch. Levert is questionable tonight however as the Pacers are playing it safe bringing him back from injury. Indiana played yesterday and lost 118–102 to Milwaukee at home. Indiana has won three of their last five though, and they are starting to play much better basketball.
I like the Timberwolves to get it done here against the short spread at home. Minnesota is a team on the rise playing good basketball and have a nice mixture of offense and defense right now. Minnesota coach Chris Finch is pushing all the right buttons to help this team succeed. I expect Minnesota to continue their streak at home against the Pacers on Monday night.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Dallas
The Cleveland Cavaliers have one of the best ATS records in the NBA this season. The Cavaliers are a 13-6-1 ATS this season. Their opponent tonight the Dallas Mavericks are 8-10 ATS. Why is Cleveland doing so well against the spread? Because after years of ineptitude, people are having problems buying in to this downtrodden franchise being good without LeBron James on the roster.
Cleveland is quietly assembled a fine collection of talent. Ricky Rubio has been a great addition for the team and his veteran leadership has helped make Darius Garland become more effective. The Cavaliers hit a homerun in the draft with Evan Mobley stepping in to make great performances right away. After a couple of terrible seasons, the Cavaliers are finally headed in the right direction.
If you’ve been reading these columns at Bet With Us this season you know my reservations about this Dallas Mavericks team. The Mavericks have a top-five player in Luka Doncic but have failed to put the right supporting cast around him. The Mavericks can be too reliant on Doncic to be successful. I also don’t believe the Mavericks are coached that well under Jason Kidd and this is leading to issues with the team reaching its full potential.
I like the Cavaliers to cover the spread or maybe even give the upset outright tonight in Dallas. Cleveland can keep this game close, and I do believe the Mavericks will have a problem with matching up with the Cavaliers long front Court. The first half of this two-team parlay isn’t Cleveland +5.5.
Denver Nuggets vs Miami Heat
The Nuggets will attempt to end their losing streak at 6 game tonight. The Nuggets have a rough road ahead of them as they start a seven-game road trip. The Nuggets have always been so much better at home and this season is no different. The nuggets are 2-6 on the road this season.
The Heat are 6-2 over their last eight games. The Heat are an impressive 6-1 at home. The Heat are at full-strength wow the Nuggets have been utterly wracked by injuries this season. This one is a fairly easy handicap take the full-strength home team against the wounded team that doesn’t play well on the road. To close out the parlay we will lay the seven points with the Miami Heat
