NBA Betting Picks for 11/18/21 Banker and Parlay

By @SpreadAstaire

Missed my first Banker of the week yesterday but redeemed myself by cashing the two-team parlay. It’s been a profitable week. Let’s keep the good momentum flowing. There are only six NBA games to choose from, but that’s enough for me to find a winning Banker and 2-team parlays.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Denver Nuggets

Philadelphia 76ers have played the last five games without Joel Embiid. The Philadelphia 76ers have lost their last five games. Obviously, these two facts are directly related. The 76ers will be missing Danny Green, Joel Embiid, and Matisse Thybulle tonight.

The Nuggets are not at full health either. They started their season without star guard Jamal Murray and recently have lost Michael Porter. Will Barton is doubtful for this evening. But unlike the 76ers, the Nuggets have their All-Star center, Nikola Jokic.

The Sixers’ timing for losing Embiid couldn’t have been worse as they have just started a road trip. After keeping it close against the Pacers before finally falling 118–113, the Sixers were absolutely throttled on Tuesday night by the Utah Jazz, losing by 35 points. The Sixers supporting cast has tried to keep it together without Embiid in the lineup, but the Jazz game might have represented the breaking point for these players being overextended in the amount that the team is asking them to do.

For a Nuggets team that is struggling with injuries, the Sixers game tonight represents a chance to see how bad things could be. I believe the Nuggets will take advantage of the Sixers’ injury misfortune.

Normally, we would be hesitant to lay points past the key number of 7 betting against NBA odds. But in this case, we can, due to the fact that the Sixers are so depleted by injury. They are also facing the fatigue caused by the Utah/Denver double, where they will be worn down by the altitude. I feel comfortable laying it with the reigning MVP. Today’s Banker is the Denver Nuggets -7.5.

Banker: Denver Nuggets -7.5 at -110 (1.91)

Toronto Raptors vs Utah Jazz

The Toronto Raptors are on a two-game losing streak including an embarrassing home loss to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. The Raptors fell short against the Trailblazers on Monday and after two days of rest, they are looking to turn things around against a very strong Utah Jazz team. The Jazz just broke their own two-game losing streak with a dominant victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jazz have an impressive +8.7-point differential which is catapulted them to the top of the league.

I like taking the Raptors plus the points here. I like their long athletic frontcourt to match up with the Jazz. I think that they can successfully avoid the pitfalls of consistently trying to test the rim protection of Rudy Gobert. Toronto has struggled with health this season and they may be missing OG Anunoby. Regardless, I think they can keep this game within double digits against the Jazz. Give me the Raptors plus the points for the first leg of our 2-team parlay.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Memphis Grizzlies broke a three-game losing streak on Monday by beating the Houston Rockets by 34 points. The Grizzlies have struggled with defense this season and are last in the league in points against at 113.5 per game. The Grizzlies will need to pick up their defense if they want to make a run in the Western Conference this season.

However, they have a chance to take advantage of a depleted Clippers team tonight as the Clippers injury report is vast. Nicolas Batum and Terrence Mann are game-time decisions tonight. This is rough for a team that is already missing Keon Johnson, Marcus Morris, and Justise Winslow. I like the Clippers team a lot, but this is a tough situational spot for them. This is the first game of a long road trip for the Clippers. It’ll be interesting to see how sharp they are to start the game.

I like Memphis to take advantage of this depleted Clippers squad tonight. Memphis is finally finding their form and will use the win over the Rockets to catapult themselves towards being the team that they are trying to be. The second half of our 2-team parlay is the Memphis Grizzlies

2-Team Parlay: Toronto Raptors + 9.5/Memphis Grizzlies + 1 at +265 (3.65)
