The NBA season continues, and the bankers continue to cash! Let’s take a look at tonight’s NBA slate to find the winning Banker and 2 Team Parlay.
Charlotte Hornets vs Washington Wizards
The Hornets and the Wizards both come into this game on winning streaks. The Hornets have won three in a row and the Wizards have won five games in a row. Charlotte is 8-7, and the Wizards are an impressive 10-3 on the year. The Wizards have a 4.9 Point differential this season while the Hornets are at -1.8.
The Wizards have been bolstered on the defensive end by the addition of Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell. The Wizards have always had a potent offense capable of keeping pace with anyone, but now that they’re able to get stops on the defensive end, they are able to put it all together to become a winning basketball team. Bradley Beal is a prolific scorer and Spencer Dinwiddie fits so well with him in the back court.
Finally, the Wizards got a huge boost at head coach. Outgoing coach Scott Brooks was a dinosaur in the way he ran his NBA systems. New coach Wes Unseld Jr. is sharper schematically, is younger, and has a better rapport with the players.
The Charlotte Hornets have to be pleased with the development of their young players. Miles Bridges is taking a huge leap forward and leads the team in scoring at 21.5 points per game. LaMelo Ball has been everything the Hornets had hoped when they drafted him. Ball is a sharpshooter with excellent passing vision that plays with confidence to give his team a lift. The Hornets are doing well to continue their rebuild under coach James Borrego and are definitely a candidate to make the playoffs this season.
I like the Washington Wizards to get the victory. The Wizards are a strong team on both sides of the floor now. The Wizards will be able to keep pace with Charlotte’s dynamic offense and have a better opportunity to get stops in crunch time. Today’s Banker is the Washington Wizards.
Banker: Washington Wizards +1 at -110 (1.91)
Dallas Mavericks vs Phoenix Suns
Today we get to use the theory that I call “Superstar Subtraction”. This is a one game theory and will not carry over to the next game, even if it is successful today. The ideas when an NBA team loses the super star, on their first game without him, the rest of the team is excited at their greater usage and roles. Being more involved in the offense and given the opportunity to impress upon their head coach that they need more minute and opportunities, these players experience a short-term bump in intensity and performance. We will take advantage of the Superstar Subtraction Theory tonight.
These are always tough bets to make. On paper it is really tough to make a call for the Dallas Mavericks here. Luka Doncic has been the engine of this team, and the offense has looked bleak without him on the floor. This is where I trust my Superstar Subtraction Theory. I’ve seen it too many times over the years. While it’s tough to make this bet make sense, expect the Dallas Mavericks to have a boost tonight and keep it close against the Phoenix Suns. The first part of the parlay is the Dallas Mavericks +8.5.
Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics
Atlanta Hawks are a disappointing 6-9 this season. However, their struggles have been as a traveling team because the Hawks are 5-1 at home the Hawks have won 12 straight home games against Eastern Conference opponents. The Hawks will be looking to continue that streak against a Boston Celtics team that is struggling to transition under new coach Ime Uboka and also toiling without the help of star forward Jaylen Brown.
Most Eastern teams struggle on a West Coast trip against the elite teams of the NBA. This has caused the Hawks metrics to show them to be a less valuable than they really are. When we use numbers, make numbers, and analyze these numbers, we must understand the weakness in using them to truly project and be predictive. I believe that the Hawks recent stretch against a very tough team has caused them to be undervalued by the lines makers. The second half of the parlay is the Atlanta Hawks -4.5.
2 team Parlay: Dallas Mavericks +8.5/Atlanta Hawks -4.5 at +265 (3.5)
