BetWithUs Golf Betting Picks: Aviv Dubai Championship

Victor Perez – each-way @ 40/1 (41.00)

Francesco Laporta – each-way @ 70/1 (71.00)

Grant Forrest – each-way @ 55/1 (56.00)

Last year’s Dubai Championship debuted on the European Tour and the Fire Course was
seen for the first time. Feedback after suggested it was an easier test than its brother, the
Earth Course that has been used for many years on tour. On the edge of the desert, it has
an exposed links feel on many of the holes which was the intention of the designer, Greg
Norman.

Viktor Perez – each-way @ 40/1 (41.00)
It’s been a peculiar lacklustre season for the Frenchman that threatened great things when
he was 4 th at the WGC Matchplay following a surprise top 10 at the Players Championship
that saw his world ranking get inside the top 30 for the first time.

It’s been tough going since for the twenty-nine-year-old but there were encouraging signs
last week especially and unusually for Perez on the putting greens as he finished fast with a
65 for his first top 10 since the aforementioned WGC Matchplay.

Given Viktor Perez affinity with golf in the desert illustrated by strong results in Saudi and
Abu Dhabi but particularly the 7 th at the Earth Course, it makes him an auto-selection each
way this week.

Francesco Laporta – each-way @ 66/1 (67.00)
It’s fair to say I was shocked by the opening tissues of 90/1 (91.00) for Francesco Laporta
this week and I availed myself handsomely of the price.

Now down to 66/1, it’s still a cracking each-way price to take in the context that he’s
accumulated three top 7 finishes in his last dozen events for each way payouts.

The clincher is his previous desert form when last year came runner up with a last day
charge from off the pace. The thirty-one-year-old Italian has a strong resume of desert form
and was in the thick of contention at the 2020 Abu Dhabi Championship before a poor final
round dropped him to 17 th .

Now with more experience in contention, Francesco Laporta looks a rock-solid each-way
option and a realistic chance of winning his first European Tour title at the Aviv Dubai
Championship.

Grant Forrest – each-way @ 55/1 (56.00)

Unlike Perez and Laporta, Grant Forrest has already won once on the European Tour in 2021
at the Hero Open in his home country of Scotland. He signed off last year’s Dubai
Championship with a 63 for a never nearer but creditable 6 th place finish.

Forrest has an abundance of high-quality form on links courses so we shouldn’t be too
surprised and arrives in Dubai on the back of a respectable Portugal Masters after a 3 rd in
Madrid a few weeks previous.

There’s plenty of prices north of 50/1 for Grant Forrest this week and like our other two
selections, has a rock-solid each way profile.
