We have an action-packed Friday night in the NBA. Which team should we back in order to get
a winning Banker and an advantage 2-team parlay.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Sacramento Kings
The Charlotte Hornets are coming into this matchup off two straight losses. On Monday night
they fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-110. On Wednesday they lost at the Warriors 114-92.
They are 5-4 on the season. This has been a breakout season for Hornets small forward Miles
Bridges, who is averaging 24.1 points per game. Mason Plumlee leads the team in rebounding
an 8 per game. Lamelo Ball leads the team in assists, averaging six per game.
The Hornets do have a balanced roster and have many different talented playmakers who can
score in isolation. The Hornet net rating right now is -2.2. They are fourth in assists at 26.3 per
game, and sixth and steals at 9.33 per game.
The Sacramento Kings are 4-4 to start the season. They are 1-2 this season at home in the
Golden 1 Center. They will be looking to get another win in front of their home fans. Harrison
Barnes is playing the best basketball of his career and leads the team with 23 points per game.
Richaun Holmes has been a steady force in the middle for the Kings averaging 10 rebounds a
game. Point guard De’Aaron Fox is averaging 6.5 assists per game.
The Kings are looking to break an NBA record playoff drought. They will need to win games like
this in order to make their playoff dreams come true.
I like the Kings to get it done at home on a Friday night against a young Charlotte team that is
still coming together and learning how to win. The Kings have more continuity at this point.
Charlotte is struggling to establish their pecking order. Lamelo Ball is the most talented player
on the team, but multiple times Charlotte head coach James Borrego has opted for backup Ish
Smith to close the games. This could be causing some consternation in the locker room. The
Kings’ core has been together for a while, and they seem ready to make a playoff push.
The Kings are lined at -2 when looking at the NBA odds. I believe this line is too short. Tonight’s
Banker is the Sacramento Kings.
BANKER: Sacramento Kings -1.5 at -112 (1.89)
San Antonio Spurs vs. Orlando Magic
The Spurs are on a two-game losing streak after losing a very close game in Dallas on
Wednesday evening. They will look to bounce back here this evening against an Orlando team
that they beat 123-97 on opening night. Since then the Magic have found more of an identity
under leading scorer Cole Anthony, but the Spurs are still the superior team even without
starting center Jacob Poetl.
The Spurs are a young athletic team that has a much better coach at this point. While I do
believe the Magic are going to be a tough out, the line is too short here. We’re going to take the
San Antonio Spurs for the first half of this two-team parlay.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Washington Wizards
The Grizzlies are coming off two straight wins over the Denver Nuggets at home. They now
head to Washington to take on a Wizards team that has lost its last two outings. Washington
has been flat since their overtime win over the Boston Celtics.
This may be a chance for them to get back on track. Regardless I think the Grizzlies are a much
superior team and Ja Morant will be the best player on the floor. Look for the Grizzlies winning
streak, and the Wizards losing streak, to continue as the Memphis Grizzlies get a Friday night
2-Team Parlay: San Antonio Spurs -3.5/ Memphis Grizzlies +1 at +257 (3.57)
