Premier League Round 8 Props: Top Betting Picks and Predictions

Bio: Hi All, You can follow me on Twitter J2110_ My nickname is JD and I’ve been gambling on Soccer since around 2015.  Once I started seeing EPL regularly shown on TV in the United States it struck me as such a fascinating sport to bet on.  I was always an NFL, MLB or NCAA bettor, but never dabbled in soccer much.  But after a few years of success, EPL/Soccer became my main sport to bet on.  I like to record the matches and rewatch them to check for things I may have missed or points the announcers made that I wanted to investigate from prior matches.  I’ve learned from many cappers such as Alex and plenty more.  With that being said, check out some of my predictions and let’s try to cash this week.

1st Pick:

Watford/Liverpool: It’s always tough to pick games like this when players are coming back from international duties combined with a new coach for Watford (Claudio Ranieri).  I do think there is something to be said for a fresh start and positive mindset of a new coach as he’s had history of good starts with new teams when he took over Leicester and Fulham.  With that being said, I still think the quality of Liverpool up front will be too much for Watford.  I would think that Watford might get on scoresheet, but my bet will be Liverpool to win and Salah to score.  If Salah doesn’t start for some reason my second choice would be Jota. This is available at +105

2nd Pick:

Leicester/Man United: Again, same comment as above, after a short break like this from international duties, you just never are 100% sure of the lineups until an hour before the match.  But if all the lineups are expected I think the safest route to bet this game would be Man United win and BTTS.  Without Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane, I think Man United will concede (probably Vardy).  The Man United fire power should be too strong for Leicester.  Even their backups, coming in at 70′ mark provide instant offense, so I do expect goals from the Man United side.  The wincast option would be the obvious choice of Ronaldo who has cashed me a handful of wincasts over the last month and a half or so.  Final choice: Man United win BTTS +270 at Fanduel.

3rd Pick:

Manchester City/Burnley: Plain and Simple, Manchester City own Burnley.  I looked at their prior history and in total over their last 8 matches the score in total was 30-1 Man City.  Now I don’t recommend betting Man City at -850, however there is potential ways we can try to extract some value from this game.  I wanted to say win to nil would be the obvious choice, but Man City has conceded 4 of their last 6 games, so I’m keeping that out of the conversation for the time being.  Other possible ways are to take them half time / full time or to take them at an Asian Handicap -1.5.

I personally think both of those wins, but my bet is going to actually be a Riyad Mahrez wincast +130 on Sugarhouse.  If he starts up top, I would think he will have some great opportunities to get the ball in the back of the net.  It appears that he’s taken over PK duties as of late, as he kicked the PK in the Champions League game versus RB Leipzig.  If he doesn’t start for any reason, Phil Foden would be my second choice.  I expect this game to be a 4-0, 5-1 type of match.

Parlay:

For the first article, I wanted to try to get a “safer” parlay (as opposed to my usual +1000 or higher parlays on twitter).  So, my choices ended up being Brighton +110, Chelsea ML -170, and Southampton/Leeds BTTS -170 which give you a final parlay of +429.

Good luck to everyone this weekend, I normally do not pick games until an hour before the lineups but when I was asked to write this article, I kept all those factors in mind.  I would only wager the wincasts early if your respective sportsbook voids nonstarters.  Gamble responsibly and good luck to all.
