Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Thursday Night Football
Hello everyone welcome to our NFL Week 6 picks here at Betwithus and thank you for being part of our team. Let’s start off first with the Thursday Night matchup with the Eagles hosting the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both teams are coming off of wins in week 5 and will look to keep the momentum going on a short week. This game has an overall total of 52.5 with the Bucs favored by 7. For me the breakdown is simple. The only way the Eagles can keep this close is to take advantage of the beat-up and beatable Bucs’ secondary that has allowed the most passing yards in the league through the first 5 weeks and the fewest rushing yards.
I do believe the Bucs win this game and have a shot at covering but that secondary makes me nervous about a back door cover late so I’m going to get that number under a touchdown and focus on the 1st half where I think the Bucs start out fast and have the lead going in at the break.
My Pick- Tampa Bay -4 1st Half at -110
Washington Football Team vs. Kansas City Chiefs
For our second play of the week let’s head to Sunday and talk about a matchup where I expect plenty of big plays and points. This week Washington hosts the defending AFC champion Chiefs. Both teams come in with major questions on the defensive side of the ball but have managed to put up points.
This game has an overall total of 55.5 with the Chiefs favored by 7. Let’s get one thing straight the Chiefs struggle mightily to cover spreads of 6 or more and in no way inspire any confidence in taking them against the spread. Do I think the Chiefs can win? Sure, I do but just don’t feel great about either side here.
What I do feel good about in this game are both offenses being able to move the ball. The Chiefs have allowed the 2nd most yards overall so far this season and Washington the 6th most so points should be easy to come by here. For me, I’ll take the lower of the team totals here, let it ride, and not worry about who wins or loses.
My Pick- Washington Team Total over 23.5 at -115
New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys
For our third and final game this week we are going to shift our focus over to Foxboro where the Patriots host the red-hot Dallas Cowboys. This game features a total of 50 with the Cowboys favored by 4 on the road and quite frankly I think this line is too low. The Patriots struggled mightily last week against the hapless Texans and have struggled offensively behind rookie QB Mac Jones.
The same cannot be said about the Cowboys who are riding the league’s 2nd ranked rushing offense, 2nd ranked overall offense, and a defense that is exceeding expectations so far ranking 14th in points allowed. The breakdown for me is simple. How do the Patriots slow down the Cowboys’ offense and how does the Patriots’ offense produce enough points to keep up with Dallas and keep this close? In my view they don’t so we are going to lay the points under a touchdown and ride the hot team here.
My Pick: Cowboys -4 at -110
