In the Top Corner: Matt Le Tissier’s Premier League Round 8 Top Betting Picks

Every week, Southampton’s legend Matt Le Tissier will bring you his top 3 picks of the Premier League round.

Aston Villa vs. Wolves

Villa are unbeaten on their home turf this term. They are also doing a great job at the back, they conceded just 1 goal in 3 homes games. They kept 2 clean sheets last season in their doubleheader against Wolves. Despite winning 2 games in a row Wolves are struggling to convert their chances into goals.

Leon Bailey, who has only made three appearances for Villa this season and is yet to start his first game for his new club is ready to perform against Wolves while Danny Ings should finally find the back of the net after almost 2 months. Going with the value bet here, Villa at home should have enough against Wolves.

Pick: Aston Villa to win at 2.05 (+105)

Leicester vs. Man United
Huge ups and downs for the Red Devils across all competitions. Loss, win, loss, loss, win, draw… this is exactly what their previous 6 games are saying. With the top 3 teams in the standings having relatively easy games this weekend, United must win this difficult match on the road. Even their recent record against the Foxes is not good (2 defeats in a row) but I believe they are the better side on paper, and they should be able to bounce back.

I’m not crazy and I know there is no timescale on Maguire’s return while Raphael Varane injured his leg in the Nations League final on Sunday evening. Marcus Rashford could return after undergoing successful surgery on his shoulder. He scored twice in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn Rovers last week and he will probably come from the bench in the 2 nd  half. Tough schedule for United… after Leicester they have Atalanta, Liverpool, Tottenham so this is a must-win for them… Going with the value.

Pick: Man United to win at +100 (2.0)

Norwich vs. Brighton
Please, someone, explain to me why Brighton are priced at plus money? I understand they are on the road but for who’s watching the Premier League, there’s nothing worse than watching Norwich play. They are one of the four teams with no win in 7 games, but they only scored 2 goals this season. Not only do they struggle to score but they find it very hard to bring the ball in the opposition’s box.

Brighton are 6 th  and that attacking line with Maupey and Trossand could easily solve this game from halftime. This is a 1-0 or 2-0 type of match.

Pick: Brighton to win at 2.1 (+110)
